Glowing Skin from the Inside out

What you can do to support your skin if you struggle with blemishes or adult acne.

Our skin is a reflection of what is going on inside your body and your mind.

If you experience blemishes or adult acne here are some steps you can take and things to consider.*

Balance your hormones

If your hormones are out of whack, it will show on your skin. Before you try to push those symptoms away (for example with taking hormones just for that reason) consider to look at the root cause of  the issue.

One of the most life changing books I've read in that context is WomanCode from Alisa Vitti.

It still strikes me as very odd that we don't learn how our hormone system works in school.

So take matters into your own hands and get educated about your hormonal health.

One of the most simple and yet so significant things I learned was that an up and down in blood sugar levels can affect the capacity of your liver to break down hormones which can ultimately result in breakouts.

Making sure you eat regular, balanced meals can have a tremendous effect on your skin.

Consider your Gut Health

Our gut health is of major importance when it comes to our overall health.

Having a healthy gut microbiome is crucial for healthy skin.

Besides a well balanced diet with a certain amount of fibre, taking regular probiotics is something worth considering.

Meditate the stress away

Recently I've read a quote from Melissa Wood-Tepperberg:

This quote made so much sense to me. Since our skin is designed to show us what is going on on the inside, making sure to get some time of deep rest and reflexion is crucial.
